Media has been playing a pivotal role in social,
economic and political development of a country. In Pakistan media
industry has enormously bee growing during the last two decades.
Realizing the importance of practical learning in Radio
Broadcasting, an FM Radio Station was established in the Department
of Media Studies of IUB in September 2006. The basic purpose of this
campus radio was to train the Media students and to provide them a
forum for developing their talents.
A variety of programs are broadcast during the three hour long
daily transmission of this FM Radio Station such as Guest Hour, News
Bulletin, News and Views, IT Zones, Agri Talk, Nafsyat Sub Ke Liye,
Admission Guide, Career Guide, Sports Gallery, Talent Hunt and Talk
Shows.

The program of FM 92.6 Campus Radio also highlighted the on-going
activities in the University which includes; academic, social,
sports, cultural and seminars & Conferences. Two Naat Khawani
competitions have been organized by the FM Radio Station for the
University students. Career guide and admission guide provide the
proper guidance to the students in these two areas. Campus Radio has
trained more than sixty students to be news casters and anchor
persons. Most of them have been rendering services to a number of TV
and Radio channels of the country.
The transmission of FM
92.6 can be listened within 12 Km radius of Bagdad-ul-Jadeed Campus
of IUB. The upgradation of the Radio Station is underway as per
direction of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Belal A. Khan. The Campus
Radio team includes Chairman of the Department of Media Studies,
Station Incharge Dr. Abdul Wajid Khan Assistant Professor, Producer
Agha Sadaf Mehdi, Broadcast Engineer Qazi Naeem and Assistant
Engineer Shahid Hassan Jaskani.
